Yardley Boy, Actor, Blacksmith....
My Life So Far by Doug Schlicher

Oh, the stories he has to tell
Sunday, April 6 • 2 p.m.
Old Library by Lake Afton
46 West Afton Avenue, Yardley
Doug Schlicher is one of those people to whom you could listen for hours – a true raconteur. His tales of growing up in Yardley in the 1950’s are so colorful, and his life story after that is facinating, filled with celebrities and unexpected turns.
Come hear Doug, see his photos and video clips, and be enthralled. He has long been an actor, known professionally as Douglas Hayle; as well as a Formula One racing buff; a bibliophile; a long-distance hitchhiker; and encyclopedia salesman; a carpet layer; a motorcyclist (with a bum elbow to prove it); a waiter; a blacksmith (Williamsburg and Pennsbury Manor have purchased his reproduction nails); and a sexton.
At the heart of Yardley are its people. Doug Schlicher is one who you’ll want to know.
This presentation is free. Donations are always appreciated. No reservations are required. Seating will be first come, first served.
