"The Evolution of Lake Afton" and Annual Meeting
Perfect Together
Sunday, June 7 • 3 p.m.
Old Library by Lake Afton
46 West Afton Avenue, Yardley
Together the Old Library and Lake Afton are the heart of Yardley, but their histories are very different. Unlike the Old Library’s straightforward past, the Lake’s varied industrial history belies the serenity that we enjoy today.
Come find out how Lake Afton evolved from a water source for the grist mill to a siltation pond for the Cold Spring Bleachery to a body of water in need of friends to keep it healthy. Did you know that the Lake is owned by five different property owners?
Photos of the Lake will be shown, including some very entertaining one of the Friends of Lake Afton at work.
The Yardley Historical Association Annual Meeting will follow. It will include a short report on 2025 accomplishments and the election of Board members and officers. Refreshments, too.
Come enjoy the company of your fellow members and neighbors, take part in the workings of your organization, and learn more about our neighbor, Lake Afton.
