Holiday Open House II
Trains, Tree, Gifts!
Saturday, December 13 • 1-4 p.m.
Old Library by Lake Afton
46 West Afton Avenue, Yardley
Decked out in evergreens and holly, the Old Library is always at its best during the holidays.
The highlight will be the ever-larger model train layout with its tooting engines, clattering cabooses, and a trolley. With familiar buildings, landmarks and billboards, the railroad scene evokes Yardley’s past and present.
Standing tall will be a spruce tree decorated with old as it would have been in Victorian times with chromolithography paper ornaments, cranberry and popcorn strings, real candles, and toys.
Homemade cutout sugar cookies and warm cider will be offered to all.
Our new “Yardley” gifts – “Destination Yardley” flour sack tea towels, “Old Library Books” velvet ornaments from England, and Images of America – Yardley books in honor of the late author Vince Profy – will be available to purchase as gifts or just for you. Also availalbe will be “Yardley’s Dream” flour sack tea towels, embroidered waffle weave towels, book diaries, newly revised Downtown Yardley walking tour booklets, prints, and notecards.
Make merry at the prettiest building in Yardley.
