The $$ and Sense of Yardley's Historic District
Keeping Yardley's character
Tuesday, October 8 • 7:30 p.m.
Old Library by Lake Afton
46 West Afton Avenue, Yardley
Yardley has had a Historic District since 1985. It encompasses downtown properties as well as those on several associated streets.
Come learn what’s in the district and why, what being in the district entails, what role it plays in the town, and how the district affects values and potential.
Megan McNish, whose job it is to know all about historic districts in Pennsylvania, will share her perpectives on the benefits of districts and how they operate. She is the Eastern Regional Community Preservation Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Her talk will be accompanies by illustrations, both general and of Yardley’s buildings taken by members of the Churchville Photography Club.
Owners of properties within the district and those interested in how Yardley’s character has been and can be maintained are especially encouraged to attend.
